Andrew is President of Historical Concepts, a traditional architecture and planning firm now in its 43rd year. Remaining true to the vision of the firm’s founder, James L. Strickland, Andrew and his partners practice precedent-based design, creating homes that range from the highly traditional to imaginative reinterpretations of historic forms. The firm also has a passion for small, historic towns and has worked with numerous municipalities to help shape the future of their main streets and/or intown neighborhoods, with a focus on ensuring that the architectural fabric and community character are preserved. Andrew has a history of leadership with the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art and recently authored the firm’s second book, Visions of Home: Timeless Design, Modern Sensibility. Under his leadership, Historical Concepts has grown from a small firm of regional impact to a 60-person design practice with offices in Atlanta and New York, successfully exporting the most captivating attributes of Southern architecture to projects across the country.
